Tilefast Regular off white-powder composed of cement, fine graded sand adhesive – Technical Data Sheet.

Tilefast Regular off white-powder composed of cement, fine graded sand adhesive – Technical Data Sheet.

Description
Tilefast Regular is an off white powder composed of cement, fine graded sands and other special additives. When mixed with water, it becomes a mortar that has good bonding strength and is easy to trowel.

Precautions

Tilefast Regular is unsuitable for:

*
bonding moisture sensitive green marble;
*
bonding to painted walls;
*
substrates subject to constant water immersion such as swimming pools.

Surface Preparation

All surfaces to be tiled must be flat and true, free from oil, dirt, grease or any other contaminants. Very porous surfaces should be primed with Plastinex (1 part Plastinex mixed with 4 parts water).

Concrete : New concrete must be allowed to cure for 6 weeks and should have a wood flat finish. When finished with a steel trowel concrete must be acid etched, using Floor Prep.
Cement Render : Render to be left with a wood float finish and allowed to cure for 7 days.
Mixing Tilefast Regular
Add Tilefast Regular to clean water at a ratio of 20 kg to 5 litres of water. Mix product to a smooth paste free from lumps by using a drill that has a speed lower than 300 rpm, or mix by hand. Slacken the adhesive and re-mix after 5 minutes.
Pot Life
Tilefast Regular has a pot life of approximately 4 hours at 20oC and 50% relative humidity.

Open Time

Tilefast Regular has an open time of approximately 20 minutes, which can be shortened to just a few minutes by the action of sun, wind, high temperatures or highly absorbent surfaces. Tilers need to constantly check that the adhesive has not formed a surface skin and is still fresh to the touch.

Wetting or priming the substrate prior to tiling prolongs the open time of the adhesive. It is not advisable to wet the adhesive when it has formed a skin as water only increases the rate of cement hydration and will result in an anti adhesive film. Skinned adhesive must always be removed and disposed of.

Application

Always install the tiles in accordance with AS 3958 1:1991 and ensure the backs of the tiles are free of dust. Spread Tilefast Regular evenly across one square metre at a time with a 6 x 6 x 6 notched trowel for walls or a 10 x 10 x 10 notched trowel for floors. The choice of trowel should be governed by the depth of the knobs, grooves or ridges on the back of the tile and the evenness of the substrate.

Lay the tiles with a fair pressure and at right angles to the notched pattern.

The final bed of adhesive should be between 2mm and 4mm. Wall tiles should have a finished joint width of 2mm – 4mm and floor files a finished joint width of 3mm – 6mm. Tiles can be adjusted for approximately 45 minutes after laying.

Coverage

20 kgs of Tilefast Regular will cover approximately 5 – 7 square metres with a 10mm notched trowel for floors and/or 8 – 9 square metres with a 6mm notched trowel.

Dry Time.

Tilefast Regular dries in approximately 24 hours at 23oC and 50% relative humidity. It may require longer times to cure for denser tiles and substrates or at installation temperatures below 10oC.

Expansion Joints

Joint Grouting

Grouting may commence after approximately 24 hours (depending on variables such as sun, heat, wind, etc.)

Shelf Life

Tilefast Regular can be stored in the original packaging in a dry elevated position for 12 months.

Packaging

Tilefast Regular is available in 20kg paper sacks.

MPM (Morgan Powdered Mastic) – interior wall tile adhesive-Technical Data Sheet.

* Cost Effective
* User Friendly
* Grout in 6 hours
Description

MPM (Morgan Powdered Mastic) is an interior wall tile adhesive with all the properties that you need of a mastic adhesive in one pack. MPM exceeds the requirements of the Australian Standard AS2358-1990, exhibiting high flexibility and high bond strength. MPM is a white cementitious, quick setting mastic designed to minimise the time between tiling and grouting an installation. MPM installations can usually be grouted after only 6 hours.
PRECAUTIONS

MPM is unsuitable for:

*
bonding moisture sensitive green marble;
*
bonding to MDF board or timber & wax impregnated wood – (Our technical advice – sheet with fibre cement boards).
*
bonding to substrates subject to constant water immersion such as swimming pools.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION & EXPANSION JOINTS

All substrates to be tiled must be flat and true, free from oil, dirt, grease or any other contaminants. Very porous substrates should be primed with Plastinex (1 part Plastinex mixed with 4 parts water). Incorporate expansion joints in accordance with AS 3958.1 2007.

Concrete: New concrete must be allowed to cure for 6 weeks and should have a wood float finish. Use Floor Prep to acid etch an adhesive key into concrete finished with a steel float.

Cement Render: Render to be left with a wood float finish and allowed to cure for 7 days.

Fibre Cement Sheets: Fibre cement sheets must be primed with Plastinex (1 part Plastinex mixed with 4 parts water) and all joints must be taped with PVC duct tape and fixed according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Plasterboard: Plasterboard must be fixed as per manufacturer’s instructions. Jointing compound must be primed with Plastinex (1 part Plastinex mixed with 4 parts water).

Painted Substrates: Oil based paints must be in good condition with all flaky paint removed. Surfaces must be washed with a commercial cleaner such as Sugar Soap. Acrylic based paint surfaces are to be treated in the same manner as oil based paint surfaces. PVA based paint surfaces must be scabbled to expose at least 80% of the original substrate. (Call us for free site specific technical advice)
MIXING & POT LIFE

Add MPM to clean water at a ratio of 20kg to 5 litres of water. Mix the adhesive to a smooth paste free from lumps by using a drill that has a speed lower than 300 rpm, or mix by hand. Slacken the adhesive and re-mix after 5 minutes. MPM has a pot life of approximately 1 hour at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
OPEN TIME

MPM has an open time of approximately 15 minutes, which can be shortened to just a few minutes by the action of sun, wind, high temperatures or highly absorbent surfaces. Dampening or priming the substrate prior to tiling prolongs the open time of the adhesive. Tilers need to constantly check that the adhesive has not formed a surface skin and is still fresh to touch. Adhesive with a surface skin must be always removed and discarded.
APPLICATION, TOOLS AND ADJUSTABILITY TIME

Always install the tiles in accordance with AS 3958 1:1991 and ensure the backs of the tiles are free of dust. Spread MPM evenly across one square metre at a time with a 6mm notched trowel for walls and a 10mm notched trowel for large wall tiles. The choice of trowel should be governed by the depth of the knobs, grooves or ridges on the back of each tile and the evenness of the substrate. Lay the tiles with a fair pressure and at right angles to the adhesive notched pattern. The final bed of adhesive should be between 2mm and 4mm. Wall tiles should have a finished joint width of 2mm – 4mm. Tiles can be adjusted for approximately 10 minutes after laying.
COVERAGE

20kgs of MPM will cover approximately 14 square metres with a 6mm notched trowel for walls.
CURE TIME

MPM cures in approximately 24 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. High density substrates or tiles and temperatures during installation below 10°C will significantly increase the cure time.
CLEAN UP

Remove excess MPM from the grout joints after 30 minutes and clean the tiles with a damp cloth or sponge. Tools and hands can be cleaned with water while the adhesive is still wet.
JOINT GROUTING

Depending on environmental conditions, commence grouting after approximately 6 hours. Use Regular or Superior Grout for grout joints between 3mm to 6mm. Use Aquapoxy, a three component anti-acid epoxy grout, if the joints are required to have a good chemical resistance. Grout Add may also be mixed with Regular Grout to impart extra flexibility, reduce porosity and increase water resistance.
JOINT GROUTING PRECAUTIONS

DO NOT use excessive amounts of water during mixing or initial cleaning as this will cause irregular colour finishes and also weaken the grout. DO NOT mix the grout with an electric drill above 300 RPM as this can entrap air into the mix causing grout to dry soft and powdery or with unsightly pin holes in the surface. All grouts should be Damp Cured for 48 hours. Refer to the Australian Standard AS 3958 Part 1 Section 5.7.3.
SHELF LIFE

Twelve months if stored in a dry & elevated position in the original factory sealed packaging.
PACKAGING

MPM is available in 20kg bags.
SPECIFICATION CLAUSE

The wall adhesive shall be Morgan MPM (Morgan Powdered Mastic) – a high performance tile adhesive complying with all relevant Australian & International technical standards.
MORGAN QUALITY POLICY STATEMENT

MPM is manufactured and distributed to a quality system based on ISO 9001:2000. MPM is guaranteed for 10 years when installed to the guidelines of AS 3958 Part 1 & 2 and in conjunction with written technical information supplied by Morgan Ceramic Tile Adhesives.

Fantastick – latex modified thin set mortar-Technical Data Sheet. Description. Fantastick is a latex modified

Fantastick – latex modified thin set mortar-Technical Data Sheet.

Description.

Fantastick is a latex modified thin set mortar that provides superior handling, mixing characteristics and increased strength. Fantastick has been specifically formulated for use in tile over tile applications on concrete substrates. All of these features add up to lower costs and trouble free installation. Fantastick exceeds the requirements of Australian Standards AS2358-1990.
Precautions

Fantastick is unsuitable for:

*
bonding moisture sensitive green marble;
*
bonding to painted walls, MDF board, (timber and wax impregnated wood must be sheeted with fibre cement sheeting);
*
substrates subject to constant water immersion such as swimming pools.

When finished with a steel trowel, concrete must be acid etched, using Floor Prep.

Cement Render : Render to be left with a wood float finish and allowed to cure for 7 days.

Tile over Tile : Tiles should be thoroughly cleaned with a commercial cleaner such as sugar soap.
Mixing Fantastick

Add Fantastick to clean water at a ratio of 25 kg to 5 litres of water. Mix product to a smooth paste free from lumps by using a drill that has a speed lower than 300 rpm, or mix by hand. Slacken the adhesive and re-mix after 5 minutes.
Pot Life

Fantastick has a pot life of approximately 2 hours at 20oC and 50% relative humidity.
Open Time

Fantastick has an open time of approximately 30 minutes, which can be shortened to just a few minutes by the action of sun, wind, high temperatures or highly absorbent surfaces.

Spread Fantastick evenly across one square metre at a time with a 6 x 6 x 6 notched trowel for walls or a 10 x 10 x 10 notched trowel for floors.

Tiles can be adjusted for approximately 60 minutes after laying.
Coverage

25 kgs of Fantastick will cover approximately 6 – 7 square metres with a 10mm notched trowel for floors and/or 8 – 9 square metres with a 6mm notched trowel.
Dry Time

Fantastick dries in approximately 6 hours at 23oC and 50% relative humidity. It may require longer times to cure for denser tiles and substrates or at installation temperatures below 10oC.
Expansion Joints
Joint Grouting

Grouting may commence after approximately 24 hours (depending on variables such as sun, heat, wind, etc.)
Shelf Life

Fantastick can be stored in the original packaging in a dry elevated position for 12 months.
Packaging

Fantastick is available in 25kg paper sacks.

Professional Tilers Blend- adhesive composed of cement, fine graded sand- – Technical Data Sheet.

* Cost Effective
* Polymer Modified
* High Bond Strength
Description

Professional Tilers Blend is an off white adhesive composed of cement, fine graded sands and other special additives. This adhesive has been polymer modified to achieve a high bond strength with non-porous tiles.

PRECAUTIONS
Professional Tilers Blend is unsuitable for:

* bonding moisture sensitive green marble;
* bonding to MDF board or timber & wax impregnated wood ;
* bonding to substrates subject to constant water immersion such as swimming pools.

MIXING & POT LIFE

Add Professional Tilers Blend to clean water at a ratio of 25kg to 6 litres of water. Mix the adhesive to a smooth paste free from lumps by using a drill that has a speed lower than 300 rpm, or mix by hand. Slacken the adhesive and re-mix after 5 minutes. Professional Tilers Blend has a pot life of approximately 3 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
OPEN TIME

Professional Tilers Blend has an open time of approximately 30 minutes, which can be shortened to just a few minutes by the action of sun, wind, high temperatures or highly absorbent surfaces.

Spread Professional Tilers Blend evenly across one square metre at a time with a 6mm notched trowel for walls and a 10mm notched trowel for floors. Wall tiles should have a finished joint width of 2mm – 4mm and floor tiles should have a finished joint width of 3mm – 6mm. Tiles can be adjusted for approximately 10 minutes after laying.
COVERAGE

25kgs of Professional Tilers Blend will cover approximately 8 square metres with a 6mm notched trowel for walls and approximately 6 square metres with a 10mm notched trowel for floors.
CURE TIME

Professional Tilers Blend cures in approximately 24 hours at 23°C and 50% relative humidity. High density substrates or tiles and temperatures during installation below 10°C will significantly increase the cure time.
CLEAN UP

Remove excess Professional Tilers Blend from the grout joints after 30 minutes and clean the tiles with a damp cloth or sponge. Tools and hands can be cleaned with water while the adhesive is still wet.
JOINT GROUTING

Depending on environmental conditions, commence grouting after approximately 12 hours. Use Regular or Superior Grout for grout joints between 3mm to 6mm. Morgan Slate & Quarry Grout should be used for joint sizes between 6mm to 20mm.
